Light at the end of the tunnel

Dear Gyrini,
The past few months of quarantine took a toll on all of us, and for some, it starting to show. At least when I am speaking for myself. Not having social engagements, such as the weekly borrels and just chilling in the Gyrinus room has been mentally draining, and to be honest, I don’t know how much longer I can take this.
Luckily there still have been possibilities for us all to see each other in the form of online activities of which many of you helped to make great. And while seeing each other via zoom/discord/skype/videocall/pidgeonpicturemail feels great, it just is not the same as seeing one another in person. Nothing beats starting a day of studying by just stopping by the Gyrinus room and realize it is already noon and you are still sitting in the cozy -albeit covered in mice feces- couches.
However, the undertone of most of these blogs has already been on these points and, while I feel mentally exhausted, the light on the end of the tunnel is finally showing. Both figurately speaking and literally speaking may I add. The summer is breaking through and with it, barbecues and chilling is making its long-awaited comeback. I think this is the first time ever in my life that I am happy to see these kinds of temperatures.
Next to finally seeing more of my own friends, I also have seen more and more Gyrini the past few weeks, which is always a blast! Therefore I hope to see all of you (still active) Gyrini at the Committee Tournament to just catch up and have a great time together.
Let us just all hope this end rather sooner than later and that I can get my perfect summer tan, even without the festivals!
Greetings,
Mr. Krabs
